Milagrow, a Gurgaon based company, has entered the tablet game. Not that we are short of players in the tablet players, but one more player wouldn’t hurt. Milagrow’s tablet is called as Milagrow Tab Top PC.
Under the hood
Milagrow Tab Top PC comes with an 8 inch capacitive touch screen. yeah we heard you. It’s neither 7-inch nor a 9.7/10 inch model which has been the norm. Before anybody kicks up a world’s 8-inch tablet moniker, let me remind everybody that Binatone Home Surf, one of the first tablets to be launched in India, is a 8-inch tablet.
Moving on to other aspects of Milagrow Tab Top’s confused existence, its 8-inch touch screen has a 1024×768 resolution, runs Android 2.3, is powered by 1.2 GHz A2918 cortex processor, 1 GB RAM (wow), and 32 GB memory. Milagrow tablet comes with 2 cameras and live TV option.
Connectivity : Milagrow Tab Top PC has Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 2 USB slots, 1 HDMI port, an SD card slot.
Battery : Milagrow Tab Top PC has a massive 5000 mAh battery which provides up to 10 hours of entertainment. This is huge as none of the other tablets which are sold in India have this kind of battery. iBall Slide is the only other tablet which has decent battery life but Milagrow beats iBall Slide.
Price : 16 GB version costs Rs. 25000 and 32 GB version costs Rs. 29500.
What’s with the name?
As per Milagrow, its Tab Top is a perfect alternative for laptops, desktops and other tablets. We fail to understand the reason why Milagrow Tab Top would be a perfect alternative to other tablets. It is still a tablet with a fancy name. And it’s expensive too.
Coming to my biggest grouse on this story, the name. What’s wrong with just Milagrow Tablet. For us bloggers, typing Tab Top PC means a lot of indentation, a lot of capitalization and boat loads lot of agony. Milagrow Tablet would have been a lot better. MilaPad would have been fantastic. But no. It has to be Milagrow Tab Top PC. And I haven’t even started on the name Milagrow, yet.
Verdict
After looking at so many tablets, Milagrow’s Tab Top PC fails to impress me with its specs. The faster processor and better RAM are obvious highlights but what else? This tablet doesn’t come awfully cheap and all Android tablets still suffer from the geeks-only factor. Andy Rubin himself has admitted that Android so far has been more of a geek OS than anything else.
The only highlight for this Milagrow tablet is the massive 5000 mAh battery. That’s incredible. But Android OS per se doesn’t provide a way to save battery on these contraptions. There has been absolutely no innovation, where it is required the most. Motorola which has recently released its Razr smartphone had tried something with its Smart Actions. Now that’s what is needed for Android in general.
Milagrow Tab Top PC doesn’t give me a reason why I shouldn’t buy an iPad. If you found a reason, please share it in comments.

I bought the milagrow tabtop last night in Delhi. Though its a new brand in the market it seems that they have done a thorough research and then come into the market. They have given most of the things which an Apple Ipad, Samsung Galaxy, Blackberry Playbook, Motorola Xoom, HTC don't offer and of course included almost everything which they do. The killer utility feature is of course the ports on the device. It has full USB for plug and play, USB host for two way communication with all digital devices and charging them, as well as HDMI out, SD Card. It also has LAN connectivity which I checked. No other device has all of the above ports …leave alone Ipad.
It also has ready to use 50+ pre-installed applications neatly grouped in Productivity Tab, Utility Tab, Educational Tab, Finance Tab, Women Tab, Medical Tab, Gaming Tab, Lifestyle Tab, Media Tab. My brother has an IPad 2 and it took him almost two weeks to get the product ready for use. Milagrow Tab Top gave me 'ready to eat' kind of convenience. With the quad band 3G and super fast 1.2Ghz processor with 512MB DDR3 RAM. Since the morning today…I haven't charged it once and I am writing this comment happily from my tabtop.
All the above are reasons enough for me to prefer a tabtop over an ipad.

Why are my previous comments not appearing please?

milagrow has the LAN connectivity. None of the Tabs have it.
So you are not forced to have a 3G connection to access internet.
And thus its a perfect replacement for Laptop/Tab/PC.
But the price should have been below 20K. 🙁
what say?
