BHIM ( Bharat Interface for Money ) is a Mobile Application developed by NPCL, based on Unified Payment Interface. It was launched by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. Named after Bhim Rao Ambedkar and is was made to make payment facility directly through banks this step was taken as part of 2016 Indian banknote demonetization and taking over cashless services.
BHIM App was launched last month and had many bugs and glitches but finally, it has received a major update. Currently,the app is only available on the Android app has got v1.2 with new features and languages.
NPCL has given a major update to the app. The biggest update is support for seven more regional languages. While the version 1 was launched only in English and Hindi, the app is now accessible in Bengali, Kannada, Gujarat, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil and Telugu.
Privacy setting for BHIM app has been improved now there is the option to disable mobile-number@upi; You can also retry mobile registration via OTP/USSD; Select SIM on dual-SIM phones; Restore password. You can now also report issues to banks and view the status of resolution and ability to reverse a payment which has been received.
BHIM app v1.2 also has the Pay to Aadhaar number payment option, with which users can transfer money to the Aadhaar number linked with bank accounts. Spam report feature, which will help block unknown persons requesting money. Customer redressal mechanism has also been added.

This has been the second update since the launch and most major one with bug fixes and languages been added to the list.
