Creative advertising is not new to most global companies and often companies end up taking a dig at their competition with sly advertising such as Nokia Lumia ad poking fun at Samsung Galaxy S4. However, Nokia Germany has taken to twitter and issued an open warning to Samsung with a creative that frankly is distasteful and extremely cocky.
Nokia Germany team has issued a KitKat themed warning to Samsung with this image,
The creative is a play on the advertising style of Kit Kat and shows a Samsung Galaxy S3 being broken into half. The creative is bang on in the sense that it comes fresh on the heels of the announcement of Android 4.4 being named KitKat.
It is clear that Nokia is calling out Samsung and announcing that it is now going to battle Samsung for smartphone market share. One wonders if this confidence in the Nokia team is from the recent acquisition of its devices & services business by Microsoft. It might be too early for Nokia given the fact that industry experts have called Microsoft-Nokia deal a failure
It will be interesting to see if Samsung responds to Nokia or they may just overlook it given the fact that Nokia is the least of worries for Samsung.
Here is the tweet from the Nokia Germany account that has since then gone viral,
