With Indian companies dominating the smartphone market in India, the incumbents are getting bolder and foraying into the tablet market. Now, Indian handset maker XOLO has forayed into the tablet market and has launched XOLO tab. Having launched two smartphones earlier, announcing a tablet is pretty fast for XOLO which is just 18 months old.
XOLO Tab Specifications
With respect to specifications, XOLO Tab is an 8 inch tablet and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quadcore processor. Running on Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 the tablet comes with 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and support for a 32 GB external SD card.
While all these specifications are pretty standard, XOLO is trying to differentiate itself by offering 3G video calling and voice calling. A single sim slot should make a good option for on-the-go connectivity especially in the Indian market where Wi-FI connectivity is scarce. The tablet also has a 0.3 MP front camera to support video calling.
XOLO Tab Price
While XOLO tab’s price is nowhere close to the cheapest tablet’s price in India, at Rs. 13,499 it sure is competitive as far as the Indian market is concerned.
It is interesting to note that the smartphones offered by XOLO are both priced higher than the tablet at Rs. 18,999 and Rs. 15,999 respectively.
The price and specifications combinations should allow XOLO to see some interest for XOLO tab but the competition in the market is intense and only increasing from domestic and international vendors
