Samsung which would be the first to cash in on any new OS craze has gotten its Windows phone ready for an India launch. Though we are not sure when, Samsung’s Windows Mango phone, Samsung Omnia W now has a landing page on Flipkart. The price isn’t out yet but the rumors are point to a 17K-19K range. A perfect price to capture the smartphone market. Samsung Omnia W competes with Nokia Lumia 710 for your hard earned rupees.
Samsung Omnia W comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU 5 MP primary camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It comes with 512 MB RAM and 8GB memory. It’s WiFi enabled and is a 3G phone.
The specifications for Samsung Omnia W are almost a copy/paste of Nokia Lumia 710 and to some extent that of Nokia Lumia 800. That’s probably because of Microsoft’s control over the hardware. Something which has been missing in the Android world.
There’s a small difference though. Samsung Omnia W comes with a front-facing camera which Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 don’t have. Also Omnia W is powered by a 1500 mAh battery. That’s too sublte a difference but would probably give Omnia W an edge.
