EdServe, the company which provides education support services, has launched its app 2tionplus app on Amazon app store. The app is already available on Blackberry, Samsung and Nokia smartphones. 2tionPlus is also available on Google Play.
2tionPlus app is a social networking app where students can get access to over 30,000 tutors in various subjects. While the app is free, the services like its LampGlow are paid services. 2tionPlus is available on Aakash Tablet.
The name 2tion is a ‘clever’ word play on Tuition, which is very popular in India. Tuition is typically used as a supplementary mechanism where the regular teaching isn’t at par.
2tionplus which is already available on Blackberry, Samsung and Nokia smartphones has been downloaded 3 lakh times. With the Android tablet launch which reaches both Amazon’s Tablet and Aakash, Edserve is aiming for million subscribers by 2014. The app which is available on Google Play has less than 50 downloads so far though.
Making app available for global reach is one thing and getting global reach is another thing. Does 2tionplus have the chops to take it global? I don’t think so. Watch this video and tell us if you have a different opinion.
It’s ironic that 2tionplus website has Google ads. This is a digression but, do you take company which places Google ads on its product website seriously?
