iPad 2 is the top Laptop in India [eBay]

This should come as a surprise but it’s longtime coming. There was a debate about where does iPad stand. If it was counted as a PC, Apple would be the top PC-maker. If not, others like Dell, HP and Lenovo get a chance at the podium. eBay which has released its gadget battle has chose to combine iPad and tablets into the PC category. The results are unsurprising : iPad 2 is the top laptop model and Apple is the top Laptop brand in India.

Apple has jumped from its traditional fourth ranking to the first, thanks to iPad 2’s demand in India. Dell has slipped to second position as there is still demand for its sturdy demand. iBerry a new laptop brand has quietly moved up to 3rd position just behind Dell.

Of the total laptops sold on eBay, 44% of them are iPad 2.

It’s a strange feeling to continue saying iPad as a laptop but we might as well get used to it.

1. iPad 2 : Overall leader and Tablet leader
2. Acer Aspire One : Netbook leader
3. Apple Macbook Pro 13.3 : Regular laptop leader
4. Dell Inspiron N4050 : Regular laptop runner-up

Netbooks

Acer is the top Netbook brand with Acer Aspire One being the most preferred Netbook. Chennai purchased the most netbooks.

Netbooks aren’t making a comeback. They are declining with tablets taking a big chunk of the Netbook pie.

Tablets

There are no names other than iPad on the tablet list. Though the demand for 3G tablets is quite high. 30% of all tablets bought on eBay are 3G tablets. Bengaluru is the top tablet city.

Laptops

Laptops now need a new name : Regular Laptops. Dell is the leader in the regular laptop category. Apple which has moved up in the overall category has moved up in the regular category too. Apple Macbook Pro 13.3 is the most popular regular laptop followed by Dell Inspiron N4050.
