For mobile app developers the hardest thing is not building a ground breaking app but to get that app to the intended consumer. For the mobile app consumers finding the right app is always a challenge. With Android rising and Windows platform making decent strides, app discovery is becoming more and more important. Many solutions are targeted at this particular problem. Mobilewalla is trying to solve the app discovery problem with some intuitive user interface. It also plans to be a one-stop shop for all mobile platforms – iOS, Andriod, Windows and Blackberry.
Mobilewalla provides a way to search for Keywords, Category’s or developer of the apps. Based on the keyword searched for, it will provide bunch of results from which you can pick. If you know the app you are looking for then Mobilewalla can give you with a direct link. The search is faster and the results displayed are quicker. The interface provides various ways to sift through the apps. There are All Time Greats, Hot apps, fast moving apps, Star developers and new apps.
Mobilewalla app score is one of the niftiest utility for selecting an app. I stumbled upon an app called Ghost Radar. I wasn’t really sure what the app was about. MW Score quickly gives what the app’s score is and how does it compare with other apps in the category. Pandora Radio, Winamp and PowerAMP all have better scores than Ghost Radar. Nifty little addition to this chart would be the number of downloads in the last week or the total number downloads. Also if a paid app is searched for, if it provide the best free alternatives, it would be great value addition. The Top in category is yet another sweet feature. Category browsing is one of the added attractions of Mobilewalla.
How does Mobilewalla make money?
Mobilewalla is a single stop window to find apps for any mobile platform. It doesn’t run any advertising on its site nor it plans to make money out of advertising. Mobilewalla doesn’t have a money making strategy yet. It plans to share the data which it collects with the developers and hopes to get some money out of it. App discovery is still in pre-natal stage and money making opportunities still has to evolve. There’s no denying the fact that this market is largely untapped.
All in all, you can get lost looking for the best app and you can actually find one. Mobilewalla catalogs almost all the apps on Apple and Android market place. At least it looks that way. With few more tweaks, Mobilewalla can rule the app discovery market.
