Samsung galaxy tab is the sexiest tablet in the market. Even after fiddling it with hours I still want to go back to it. It has all what you can think off. Surely the PC has evolved into the new age tablet which keeps you on your tabs all the time wherever you go.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has looks to kill for; a beautiful spectacular 10.1 inched screen with Touch Wiz UX 4.0 interface which detects motion with A-GPS sensor, proximity and light sensor, accelerometer and a gyroscope. It has .34 inches (8.6mm) of thickness which is same as a width of a pencil and it weighs 565 grams which makes it even lighter than a glass of Pepsi. It has an OS especially made for the tablet which is Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The light weighted body holds a hardy 1 GHz Dual Core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. It features a 3.1 mp rear camera with LED flash and a 2.0 mp front facing camera for video calls. It has a robust 7000mah battery which can last for days.
It has fewer buttons than the earlier version of tablet with only power button and volume control keys on its surface. A PDMI connector is provided at the bottom of the device which is somewhat like a proprietary interface connector which can be used for charging as well as transferring data. It demonstrates great design and innovation in the front and holds a plastic look at the back with a metal rim on the top where the camera is located. The tablet has two 10.1V surround sound speakers which make the cinematic experience even more superior.
The tablet unlike its competitors doesn’t sport a home key or soft key buttons, it rather has an embedded home screen and return keys in the menu. The user interface is not only breezy but has beautiful widgets, with apps tray for multitasking. The customization screen is easy and fun to set with live wallpapers, widgets and adding home screens. The live panel keeps your apps refreshed and updated on real time basis. Besides there are a number of preloaded apps like, music hub, social hub, photo editor, movie editor and things you can just imagine.
It is also equipped with the entire Google suit which is especially customized for the tablet users where my personal favorite is Google Book Reader which ceases the need to carry books and journals. The interface is easy and gives you a better experience of reading a book with options for changing text size and color. Of course with pinch in, zoom in and zoom out.
This device is great on multimedia; you can click images and shoot videos in HD with a high quality resolution of 1080p videos. It also fulfills all your office needs with an in house quick office app where you can view, edit and save your important documents and presentations on the go. The music hub can play multi-format songs from your favorite play list.
Lastly, the most important of all is, it has a faster web browser which when connected to wifi or your high speed internet or GPRS, EDGE, 3G (supports speed up to 21.2 Mbps) is even faster than the leading tablets in the market. It gives you a better browsing experience with HSPA+ which works like air with Adobe Flash player. It has WiFi which can support bands like a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1.
An only major drawback of the device is that it doesn’t support any micro SD Card, micro USB slots and HDMI connector. The device is available in 16/32/64 GB memory slots which is surely capable of handling large amount of data. In India it will cost you around INR 35,000 for 16GB tablet. The price may vary depending upon the memory size you opt for.
