There is a certain charm to 3D. It keeps coming back. A new portable media player (PMP) manufactured by Gadmei and distributed by YoDigito in India, is solving the 3D conundrum with a glasses free PMP. We have seen glasses free 3D netbook, now is the time for a glasses free PMP.
Gadmei P83 uses a naked eye 3D display.
Gadmei P83, comes with a 8 inch LCD display with 1280×768 resolution, 4 GB internal memory and buttons on the device for easy navigation through files and music videos. It has a USB port which makes it easy to connect to a computer and transfer files. Gadmei P83 will play all the popular video and audio formats. The memory on the PMP can be expanded to 32 GB through a SD card slot. Gadmei P83 also comes with a stand feature which lets you offload the 516 grams contraption on to a the nearest sofa, couch or a bed. Gadmei P83 doubles up as a eBook reader where you can transfer your pdf files and read. Gadmei PMP can also record videos in 3D format for later consumption. Gadmei PMP doesn’t have a camera.
Gadmei P83 is an exclusive media consumption device for 3D connoisseurs and should be viewed that way. It’s not a touch screen device or a tablet nor does it run Android. Gadmei P83 is priced at Rs. 19999 which is a little steep for India’s ‘value for money’ consumers. Yet Gadmei isn’t a tablet and not trying to be one, which is what I like the most.
We have looked at the demo video and it looks pretty amazing. Take a look :

Interesting device, but have seen a demo once in 2009 where a company demonstrated 3D video on normal BENQ LCD display without any glasses.
Damn! I forgot the name of the company but they showed me this demo in Delhi.

Could be Rohit. This is the first we have come across. If you have a link to that device, I would be interested in looking at it.
