Finally Karbonn has entered the Android race with Karbonn A1. Karbonn A1 has 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen and 3.2 megapixel camera . It runs on Android Froyo version 2.2 with 600 MHz processor. It supports 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Thanks to Froyo, A1 can act as a Wi- Fi hotspot. Karbonn A1 supports Adobe Flash 10.1 version, and has GPS support. A1 can have expandable memory of 32 GB. Karbonn is priced at Rs. 6999.
Karbonn plans to launch 3 more smart phones targeting niche segments like business users, students and house wives.
Though Karbonn A1 has lot of similarities with Micromax A60, it deviates from A60 in two features : Karbonn A1 has a capacitive touch screen and it supports WiFi Hotspot, which were absent in Micromax A60. Though WiFi hotspot is a feature of the OS it runs, but a difference nevertheless.
Interestingly Micromax has launched its A60 phone with the same price tag as Karbonn A1. Now we have Micromax A60, Micromax A70, Spice Mi270 and Karbonn A1 trying to attract the same set of user. Who will win this race?
