Creative has launched two Android tablets called Creative Ziio. The tablets have a screen sizes of 7-inch and 10-inch. The 7-inch tablet costs Rs. 17999 and the 10-inch tablet costs Rs. 21999. There are only a handful of tablets in India and stacking these two tablets against other available tablets isn’t a big task. But the question is, should we even do it?
Both the Ziio tablets have a resistive touch screen. A 7-inch resistive touch screen costing close to 18K bucks is something of a surprise. Given the fact that people can stretch their budget a little further and get GalaxyTab, Olivepad or even an iPad (depending on the stocks). So why did Creative launch these tablets now?
One of the two things might have happened. Creative might have ordered this tablets long time back and the tablets were delivered this month. Or, Creative has chosen to not to track the market at all and just launch the products and see if they stick. Either way Creative has a problem.
We have gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about specs. Both the tablets have a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, Android 2.2 operating system, 8GB internal memory, Bluetooth, Wifi, support for all popular audio and video formats, HDMI out, speakers, mic and a front-facing camera.
As you can see, the specs are decent. Creative Ziio tablets could have used a capacitive touch screen to make an impression.
