Beetel, Bharti Airtel’s telecom product arm, has silently replaced Beetel Magiq with Beetel Magiq 2. As a tradition in the technology world, the later products are superior to their predecessors. Beetel has broken that tradition. Contrary to what many gadget manufacturers do, Beetel has downgraded the specifications of its Beetel Magiq 2. Instead of a 1 GHz processor, Beetel Magiq 2 now runs a 768 MHz processor. There is a slight 200 rupee price difference between the two version, Beetel Magiq 2 is cheaper.
Why would Beetel do something like this?
Beetel Magiq the first version has fallen short in our expectations because of its resistive touch screen. Reliance 3G Tab has become a tablet of choice though it costs 3K more than Magiq. Despite this Beetel enjoyed a first mover advantage and there was even news about it running out of Magiq tablets.
If Beetel was smart Magiq 2 would have been Magiq 1 and vice versa. That would have at least created some buzz around Magiq. So why would Beetel do something like this? I wish I could offer a plausible explanation.
We are stilling looking for at least one reason why Beetel Magiq 2 even exist. Please leave a comment if you have found a reason behind this Beetel’s Magiq mystery.
Note : Some publications are reporting that first version of Magiq 2 didn’t have 3G and Magiq 2 has 3G. This is not true as Beetel Magiq was 3G enabled.
