A phone once lost is lost forever. For the most part that is. A new Android app is all set to change that. A lost Android phone can still be tracked and be re-united with the rightful owner. There’s a whole lot of luck involved but in today’s world, even luck needs an app. Plan B is an Android app which promises to find your phone’s location without any pre-installations.
Plan B actually counts on you being careless. In a true Plan B style, the app can be remotely installed, location tracked through a simple text message and in return a Gmail can be expected with the geo-location of the phone. If all of this sounds too good to be true, then it is too good to be true. Ars Technica’s Jon Barrow has found his Droid using Plan B (the Android app).

The fact that the app was really used to get a phone back lends a lot of credence to Plan B. Though you have Plan B, this isn’t to discourage you from having a Plan A.
