Spice to launch Android 2.3 tablets in the sub-20K range!

Who doesn’t want to be in the tablet game right now? Smartphones and feature phone market is nearing saturation either in terms of features or in terms of competition. That’s where new product portfolio comes into picture. Spice which has launched innovative products in the Indian market is coming up with three new Android tablets. All the tablets will be priced in the sub-20K range.

If there is one thing Indian companies know about India, it is pricing. And they have never gone wrong with that.

Spice Mi-700

Mi-700 is a 7 inch tablet with dual cameras and a Qualcomm chipset. 3G and WiFi models will also be available

9-inch and 10-inch tablets

Spice will be launching 9 inch and 10 inch tablets. Other specifications are not out yet but they would be anybody’s guess. If we get a price out, then we can build a tablet ourselves, on paper that is.

All these tablets will be available in July.

As per some recent reports, 10K seems to be the sweet spot for tablet sales. Also 1 million tablets are expected to be sold in India. That to me is an impressive number. If we have decent tablet in the 10K-20K range which is appropriately priced, then I don’t see why India can’t reach 1 million sales figure.
