iPad 2 in India at a price of Rs. 44000!

Like they say, in the technology world, nothing ever is a rumor. iPad 2 which is rumored to be entering India has actually entered. We spotted iPad2 on the Home Shopping website and it looks stunning and expensive too. There was noise around iPad 2 for quite some time. First it was the big price drop on iPad then it was the stock run outs for iPad across India which were signals enough that Apple will be launching iPad 2 in India.

Home Shop 18 lists four variants of  iPad 2 :

The cheapest variant is the 16 GB WiFi+3G option which costs Rs. 43499.

1. 32 GB WiFi+3G costs Rs. 49999
2. 64 GB WiFi+3G costs Rs. 56499
3. 64 GB WiFi only costs Rs. 47999

Home Shop 18 wouldn’t be a first choice for Apple trying to enter a country with a population of 1.2 billion. Did Apple choose Home Shop 18 or Home Shop 18 just chose to display iPad 2’s? Would there be a official word on this.
