After a week’s delay, Google is now finally seeding the latest and greatest version of Android to its Nexus devices. We have been seeing many soak tests carried out by Motorola for its Moto G, and Moto X 2014 edition phones and were concerned if these Moto phones get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update even before Nexus devices. This roll-out was confirmed by Android’s official Twitter account.

Interestingly Google Nexus weren’t the only devices to which the Lollipop update was seeded on 12 Nov 2014.
Motorola had also rolled out Android 5.0 update to its Moto G 2014 edition and Moto X 2014 Pure Edition phones.
The Android 5.0 update is currently available only for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013 Wi-Fi models), and Nexus 10. The update is available via FOTA and the users can download and install the update over a Wi-Fi connection. It is also advised to make sure that your phone’s battery is well over 50% before flashing the new firmware.
The owners of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 with cellular connectivity (2012 and 2013 editions) will have to wait a bit more longer. In the meantime, just take a backup of all important data in your device so that you don’t have to wait even a single minute after the upgrade hits your device.
if you have already updated your device to Android 5.0, then please share your experience about performance and battery backup improvements.
