Spice MiTab or Spice Mi720 is the latest Android tablet choice for Indian consumers. The tablet was announced a while back. Now it is officially launched and is priced at Rs. 11990. The same price range Reliance has launched its 3G tablet for. Spice MiTab and Reliance 3G tab are in direct competition in both price and features.
Specifications
Spice MiTab is powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Turbo processor, 512 MB RAM and comes with a 4GB bundled storage which can be expanded to 32 GB. MiTab sports a 7-inch WVGA TFT capacitive touch screen with a screen resolution of 800×480. Spice MiTab is Android 2.2 powered, which is the only downfall when compared with Reliance 3G Tab.
Spice MiTab has a 2 megapixel camera in the back and a VGA camera in the front.
Spice MiTab is 3G enabled, has WiFi and can work as a WiFi hotspot. It has Bluetooth and GPS. Spice MiTab can be used to make phone calls. This tablet doesn’t have FM radio option.
Massive battery
Spice MiTab comes with a massive 4200 mAh battery which is by far the best battery (at least on paper) we have seen in the recently launched tablets. iBall Slide has a slightly better battery (4400 mAh) than MiTab.
Price perfect
Spice or S Mobility as it is called now, made an interesting choice when it comes to the price of Spice MiTab – a clear 1000 rupee difference with the hottest tablet in the market. Reliance 3G Tab retails at Rs. 12999 and comes with its own bundled data plans and works only with Reliance network. Spice MiTab doesn’t have a marriage to keep up. It works with almost any 3G network.
Price and carrier agnosticism should tilt the tide towards Spice MiTab. Do I smell a price drop for Reliance 3G Tab?
