Notion Ink has released their second video, showcasing an email application called Mail’d designed for Eden. Android tablets have a problem of not having enough applications and the manufacturers are coming up with their own apps. Samsung Galaxy Tab had a similar problem and it has its own email client. The problem with existing Android apps is, they are not designed for tablets and hence they either do not scale up or they have a smartphone interface which doesn’t use tablet screen’s real estate.
Mail’d solves both the problems wonderfully. The application itself is very slick. And the touch screen is super responsive. It has a three pane window, where all your email accounts are listed on the left most pane, email’s on the middle pane and the content on the right most pane. People using Outlook might find this interface familiar. But this nothing like Outlook. Mail’d probably is the way emails are meant to be read. Again, the touch screen is super responsive. Notion Ink is living up to the expectations, with the videos and with the product itself.
