M.F. Hussain has loved his iPhone. Being a painter he might have loved his iPad too. Because iPad has one more use case, this time it isn’t a music video or an educational app but it has become a nifty tool for a painter. iPad is the new favorite gadget of painters who don’t want to carry all the paraphernalia that has to go with painting the next masterpiece.
K V Sridhar or pops has used iPad to sketch out 28 paintings which are on display at the Scarecrow Art Gallery, Mumbai. The show will go on till the end of June.
The paintings were done using Art Rage app and each painting took two and half hours. When it comes to painting on iPad, it isn’t all that different. You still has to be a painter and know a lot about colors. iPad is not a substitute for imagination. It is just a tool which can replace the canvas and the paint brush.
28 iPad created paintings went on the show and the price of the paintings ranged from Rs. 25000 to Rs. 90000. The paintings were given the same treatment as its traditional counterparts when they were printed out. The outcome is the same, only the process differed.
iPad paintings – like the sound of it. Can we see some budding painters releasing iPad paintings? Would you buy one of these?
