Slashdot, Slashmovie and now probably we need to have a slashprice domain. No kidding. Research In Motion (RIM) has slashed the price of its 64 GB Playbook to Rs. 19990 from Rs. 24990. This slash comes after a slash just two weeks before. The cheapest Playbook is still available at Rs. 13990.
RIM wants to just extend the festive season a bit and see if it can sell more than 12000 tablets like it did with the last price drop. This isn’t a terrible good move by RIM because the initial move of pricing the tablets so high is just plain wrong.
Playbook started by competing with iPad 2. Now it has found its place in the company of Reliance 3G Tab, iBall Slide and Beetel Magiq. The 64 GB Playbook doesn’t yet have much of a competition though.
With the recent price drop, will you renew your interest in the Playbook?
