LeEco and Coolpad both have made there presence felt in the Indian smartphone space. Today, both companies have collaborated to launch a new smartphone in India, called the Cool 1 Dual. An Affordable smartphone with dual-rear camera setup.
The Coolpad Cool 1 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with a peak brightness of 450 nits and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor.The smartphone will be made available in two variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage and 4GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage – and both have been priced at Rs. 13,999.
While the 4GB RAM model will only be available online, exclusively via Amazon India from January 5, the 3GB RAM model will only be available offline. In case of offline sales, the company will announce availability at a later date.
The Coolpad Cool 1 Dual will be made available in Silver and Gold colour variants in the country. Cool 1 Dual running LeEco’s EUI 5.6 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The biggest highlight of phone is a dual-rear camera setup (13MP + 13MP) with f/2.0 aperture.
One sensor handles colour, while the other takes care of depth, detail, and brightness. Rounding off the optics, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an 80-degree wide-angle lens and phase detection auto-focus. The phone is backed by a 4000 mAh battery, and comes with a reversible USB Type-C port.
Coolpad claims that with Quick Charge 2.0, the phone can be charged to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes.
The overall performance is pretty fluid, though you will have to get used to the absence of the app drawer. Another thing that one needs to get used to is the control center on EUI, which has been integrated into the multitasking window.
So basically, when you open the app switcher, you not only see all the open apps, but also the brightness slider, music playback and shortcuts to the camera, calculator and flashlight among others.There is a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, just below the dual-cameras. The company says that the sensor is fast enough to unlock the screen in just about 0.15 seconds.
Connectivity options on the Coolpad Cool 1 Dual include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, infrared, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, three-axis gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. The Cool 1 Dual weighs in at 173 grams, and measures 152×74.8×8.2mm.
A good looking phone with a well build, a decent set of specifications and features, and a dual-camera setup at the back.
In the segment featuring devices like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Moto M and Lenovo K6 Note, Cool 1 will surely stand out of crowd.
