HTC is all set to add some more oomph to its mid-range and somewhat affordable Desire series smartphone lineup. As per the recent rumors floating around the web, the Taiwanese company is working on a device codenamed “A55” which will be revealed in MWC 2015.
It is worth noting that the A55 is not just another phone belonging to the Desire lineup as it packs 3 GB of RAM while boasting some other great specs for its price tag.
As leaked by the popular leakster upleaks, it is expected to pack a 5.5 inch quad-HD display along side a 2 GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6795 chip. Learning from its mistakes in the recent past, HTC has decided to equip the phone with a 20 MP rear and 13 MP (or may be 4 MP ultra pixel) camera.
HTC A55 will also pack dual speakers and comes with 32 GB ROM. There is no information about its support for micro SD card and given the HTC’s track record, we suspect that the phone might not support expandable memory at all.
It is expected to run on Android Lollipop skinned with HTC Sense 7.0 on top.
The HTC A55 Desire will be launched in dual SIM and single SIM variant with the dual SIM variant for the Asian market and the other version for the rest of the world. A55 will be available in gold, gray, and brown colors.
As the phone belongs to the rumor mill at the moment, there is no word about its price tag. HTC is not very famous for launching affordable phones & keeping the hardware of A55 in mind I am expecting it to be launched somewhere close to Rs. 30,000.
If you don’t want to spend that much on a phone then you have a look at some other great phones with 3 GB RAM.
If these rumors pan out to be true and HTC does launch this phone with the exactly same hardware as mentioned, what price would you be ready to pay for it?
