Just about time when we started to think that Gionee has forgotten to seed software upgrades for its 2013 models, we got the news of Gionee updating its Elife E3 to Android KitKat.
Besides the regular Android KitKat improvements, the Gionee Elife E3 will now have built-in support for various Indian languages like Hindi,Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam,Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.
Complete Android KitKat Changelog for Gionee Elife E3:
- Added one game: Hitout Heroes
- Updated TexasPoker game.
- CamCard app added to let the users save the contents of a business card easily just by scanning.
- Added new input method TouchPal for faster and more efficient typing.
- Apps Updated: WeChat, UC Browser, Saavn, NQ Mobile Security, Kingsoft Office, GioneeXender, and Amigo Paper.
The KitKat upgrade will not only add support for Wireless printing, Immersive Mode, Smart Caller ID, ‘OK Google’ from any screen, etc. but will also make your phone faster and last longer on a single recharge.
The only weird part about the update is that it’s not available as FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air). You will have to visit either Gionee service centre to get your phone upgraded or head over to this page and follow the instructions very carefully.
If you have you never flashed a phone before and are not feeling confident about updating your Elife E3 yourself then you should visit the service centre.
Do share with us your experience with the phone after updating it to Android KitKat. Does it feel any better?
