Android apps available on Android market have hit 500,000 with a 37% removal rate. At that pace it is anyone’s guess that not all apps taste the same kind of success. Some apps might reach 50 million downloads and some apps fail to cross even 10 downloads.
Needless to say few apps occupy much of app download bandwidth and users mind space too. So which apps are ruling the Android world?
It would be a sad story if Google didn’t rule the Android app world by being the biggest country. Google apps have seen 135 million downloads between YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail and Google Sky.
Angry Birds probably occupies the next biggest country with 70 million downloads spread across various flavors.
Facebook, Twitter, Dictionary.com, Yahoo Mail, Handcent SMS, Barcode Scanner, Skype, Pandora and Words with Friends are other smaller but significant countries in the Android app world with more than 10 million downloads.
