Samsung announced two Smartphones in India on 5th September, 2012 – Samsung Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562) and Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite (GT-S5302).
Both these Smartphones supports dual SIM and are priced at Rs. 17,900 and Rs. 6,990 respectively.
Specifications
If we have a look at the specs of Samsung Galaxy S Duos, it features a TFT display of 4 inches, runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is powered by 1GHz processor. This handset comes with 1500mAh battery and features a rear camera of 5MP with auto focus and front facing VGA camera. It comes with 512 MB of RAM and has an internal memory of 4GB. The additional specs include – FM Radio with RDS, 3G, WI-fi, Bluetooth v 3.0 and GPS.
The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos runs on Android 2.3 OS and is powered by a processor of 832 MHz. It also has a rear camera of 2MP, internal memory of 3 GB that is expandable up to 32 GB, touch screen display of 2.8 inches, supports Bluetooth, WI-fi and USB 2.0. The additional specs of this handset include – dual active SIM, FM radio, expandable storage etc.
The company tied up with Reliance, to give the buyers the benefit of free data plans like – 1GB 3G data or Unlimited 2G data per month up to 6 months.
So, for Reliance customers, the Galaxy Y Duos Lite will come with 1GB of 3G or Unlimited 2G data free per month for 6 months.
In conclusion, we can say that the company is trying to increase the growth of the dual SIM market in India by launching these two innovative and advanced Smartphones at a very low price.
