Airtel, Aircel to bring iPhone 4 to India

For those who have been hankering for Apple’s latest smartphone, iPhone4, we have news. Aircel and Bharti Airtel will be selling iPhone4’s pretty soon. The exact date isn’t out yet but we believe this to be true. There were rumors earlier that Tata and Reliance will be bringing CDMA iPhone which remained as rumors. We have also blogged earlier about how iPhone4’s are available on Infibeam’s website. Vodafone is supposed to launch iPhone 4 but no dates were announced. Of course, these things are for the folks who don’t have US connections and who are waiting to buy the contraption on Indian soil.

Just what exactly is on that iPhone 4 which is driving people crazy? For starters, iPhone 4 is a completely re-design from its predecessors both from the outside and the inside. The industrial design of the phone is all changed and instead of chubby look of iPhone 3G and 3G S, iPhone 4 goes with a sleek curvy design. From the inside, iPhone 4 went with a all-new A4 processor which is rumored to be 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM. It will have a front-facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera.

The biggest improvement comes in the screen display. iPhone 4 has 960×640 IPS screen which it calls the retina display – a better and clear view of the things on the phone.

All the features might sound like a regular on the current smartphone scenario. But you have to spare a thought on when the iPhone 4 was initially launched. It sounds like it was launched ages ago and we are already expecting a iPhone 5. India launch, as usual, is delayed. In spite of that, iPhone 4 would still be one of the best smartphones available. Once the price is available we can go further and pit this against some of our best Android phones. If you are expecting this baby to come cheap, I would say you are a perennial optimist.
