Sick and tired of seeing the smartphones cropping up every now and then with their touch screens and super slick shapes? Now we have a breather. A new phone called the AEsir YB1 is being sold for 6400 pounds and a gold plated version will be available for a meager 37000 pounds. This is being dubbed as anti-smartphone. There is actually name for these kind of phones – feature phone. Micromax, Spice, Karbonn and Zen sell these for much cheaper rates with few other features packed in.
Just what does this phone do?
Nothing if you ask me. It will let you make a call and receive a text message. Beyond that the phone does nothing. The body is made of ceramic and the buttons are made of steel.
The phone took three years to design and is made from watch-grade material by European craftsmen, and everything down to the ring tones has been designed specially for it.
Watch grade material, huh! And three years? What is this? 1990?
Give this phone to Micromax and it will be immediately ripped open, design studied and enhanced to suit Indian needs. New features will be FM radio, Dual SIM and music player. Cost : Rs. 3400. Time to execute the project and bring the phone to Indian market : 8 months. Micromax will throw in a torch too.
