Nokia E5 : Business and pleasure

Nokia which is bolstering its product offerings has released a business phone Nokia E5 with a price tag of Rs. 12699. It is for people who still like to keep the things the old way – by not touching the screen and operating with the keyboard. E5 comes with a nice QWERTY keypad for the email/IM addicts.

E5 is ideally suited for people who want to get work done. Nokia provides the office suite to work on and edit documents, Nokia IM to stay in touch (along with other popular IM’s) with co-workers and email for continuous communication. E5’s memory can be expandable to 32GB which can hold media for getting your mind off the things. FM Radio can chip in when your music collection isn’t suiting the mood.

What makes Nokia E5 pleasurable?

1. QWERTY keypad : How much ever we love and adore the touch screen, typing on it can be messy. Keypad will get the work done because old habits often die hard.
2. 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity makes it completely mobile.
3. Price : 12699. With the features packed in the price tag is hard to beat.
4. 7.5 hours of talk time : Nokia, traditionally is known for its battery life. To provide a 7.5 hours of talk time for a fully featured phone is not an easy job.
5. All your favorite IM communities—Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat—are available.

1. 256MB is the internal memory and Nokia will pack it with a 2G SDCard. Just enough to pack your music collection. Best part is the memory can be expandable to 32 GB.
2. 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash to capture pictures and videos with high quality in day or night. A 3x digital zoom is possible.
3. Music player, FM radio and video playing capability (mp4 and 3gp) make E5 the complete phone in its class.

If you are like me, who need help to get around a city E5’s GPS and assisted GPS will help you with that too. It provides the routes, directions, nearest restaurants and any landmark of your choice. You might be late because of traffic but never because of lack of directions – if you have Nokia E5 of course.

E5 comes in 5 color choices – Carbon Black, Chalk white, copper brown, silver grey and sky blue.

You might not find a better phone with the same price tag. Nokia E5’s only competitor in the market is Samsung Galaxy 3.
