HTC has released a mid-market Android phone in India. HTC Wildfire S is available in India for Rs. 14700. This phone has broken the 15K price mark which make it attractive for quite a few people. Best of all, HTC Wildfire S is powered with Android’s latest version – Gingerbread (2.3). Quite a few Android 2.3 phones are available in India and some got the updates so far.
HTC Wildfire S has a 3.2 inch HVGA display, 600 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM, WiFi, GPS and 5 megapixel auto focus camera.
For the price of Rs. 14700, HTC Wildfire is a value for money phone. One might look down on the slow processor embedded but that’s what you get for that price. Besides, processing power has to be harnessed properly by the apps that go with and Android 2.3 should come in handy with its improvements.
Micromax Bling 2 also has similar specifications with an added bling but, I would still recommend HTC Wildfire S. Micromax Bling 2 has a small screen size (2.8 inch) and is not Gingerbread powered. Of course, the cost difference is significant, but 15K spent on Wildfire S would be money well spent.
