USB drives come in many sizes and shapes. From weird and stealth shapes to outright outrageous shapes, USB’s have taken many shapes. We haven’t seen the outrageous of all. Until now. This USB drive takes the shape of the wall. New York City has a dead drop experiment going on where USB drives are stuck into walls in five locations.
These dead drops are public file sharing areas and can be accessed by anyone. Think of it as a water fountain one might see across the road. It is that public.
The gentleman in the picture above is using the dead drop to access files.
Dead drop USB just below a public phone.
Security is one concern which comes to mind immediately. For everything else this looks like a neat idea. Too bad you can’t stick your iPad.
