On 11th December 2016, Xiaomi announced Mi VR Play on the occasion of Mi-POP. Mi-POP was the fantabulous event for Mi fans, and they are celebrating their two years of success in Indian Markets.
Xiaomi has launched the VR headset at an unbelievable price of INR 999.
The Mi VR Play headset was announced back in August, and it is the company’s 1st VR headset. It’s a kind of cool design with a two-way zipper that opens up to carry any smartphone with a 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch display. The headset is certified to work with all the Google Cardboard apps. It’ll be available exclusively from Mi.com online and select offline partners for INR 999 ($15).
To configure your Mi VR with Google cardboard, you can simply scan this barcode in the app.
Mi VR Play is light and has an excellent lycra finish with various colors and styles to choose from, although Indian buyers may have to settle for the default black. There are lots of games and app available on Playstore that work with Mi VR. Also, you can experience the thrill of 360-degree videos on Youtube. Mi also announced that their Mi Live app is going to a good source of 360* videos, but it’s not available yet in India.
MI VR has some cons – It does not have any padding like many others and VR headset may not fit everyone’s forehead. Also, the light that percolates from right and left side, disturbs the viewing experience and this is annoying a bit.
Interestingly, Mi VR headset sale started today at Dec 21, 12:00 PM IST. But it went out of stock in just couple of minutes. You can try you luck here.
