Android 6.0 aka Android Marshmallow is most advanced smartphone OS that Google has cooked till date. Android Marshmallow not only fixes the bugs present in Android Lollipop 5.x, but also brings in better performance and stability along with quite a few new features:
It lets the user have fine control over the app permissions and can decide what information to share with a particular app and what not. This would result in better privacy control for the users and in turn would make them feel more comfortable.
Android 6.0 also has in-built support for fingerprint scanner through a new API. Another important addition to Android Marshmallow is the addition of the “Doze” mode. This mode detects if the user hasn’t used the device for a while by taking inputs from the phone’s motion sensors, and then cuts down on the background activity of the phone improving the battery backup significantly.
Marshmallow also brings the support for “app linking” which would you open apps different apps by clicking a trigger button inside other apps. So now, you won’t have to deal with a popup dialog asking with which app would you like to open for a particular task.
Though it won’t bring in a completely new theme like Lollipop did, but that would probably be reserved for the next Android version.
So, now that we’ve talked about the new features that you can expect from Android Marshmallow aka Android 6.0, let’s see when your phone will receive the latest Android upgrade.
