What’s happening in the forbidden fruit world? A whole lot actually. Apple is busy preparing next generation products and fighting patents.
iPad 3 and iPad LTE
Rumors never stop and the iPad 3 rumors have already kicked. While the dangers of iPhone 5 rumor disaster still lurks, iPad 3 rumors seem to be more plausible. What have we rumored so far? iPad 3 will be thinner (which is anybody’s guess), and it will have brighter display, possibly retina display with 330 pixels per inch. iPad 3 is scheduled for 2012.
There are also rumors that an LTE iPad will be released in Japan. (Source)
iPhone 5 and 4-inch mystery device
It could be iPhone 5 but Apple is working on a 4-inch mystery device. Also there is a talk that LTE iPhone 5 is in the works too. Sharp is reportedly supplying 4 inch screens which could end up in an iPhone 5 or a later generation iPhone.
Apple has long stuck its guns with a three and half inch screen though its Android counterparts have flirted with every screen size possible. A 4-inch screen without increasing the surface area of the phone wouldn’t be a bad thing to try. In fact, it could be the best thing. Nokia N9 is a 3.9 inch device without any buttons or bezel. Something similar on an iPhone would be wonderful.
Apple TV
Apple has to conquer the last screen you interact with.
Steve Jobs biography reveals that he has finally cracked it, referring to reinventing TV. Television like our socks hasn’t seen much of an innovation and the timing is ripe for an Apple TV. Rumor mill strongly believes that an Apple TV is coming in the second half of 2012.
From what we know so far, it will be a full-fledged TV with various sizes and would be come with an Apple price (read exorbitant). The TV will be simplified and will be loaded with Apple ecosystem.
You can add your wish list here but my guess is the TV can be operated with other iOS devices like an iPad or an iPhone. Apple better rush because Lenovo’s Idea TV is making some noise.
