iPhone 4S is now available in India through not so direct channels. Few websites are selling iPhone 4S in India at a premium. Leaving the premium part aside, should you even buy iPhone 4S in India?
While the blogosphere is abuzz with Siri jokes and how great the new iPhone is, you should not be swept away with all the madness that is out there. This is the time to sit back, relax and think about how much of iPhone 4S goodness is really useful in Indian context.
Here I have looked 4 things to consider before buying an iPhone 4S in India. These are the most important decision points for buying the iPhone 4S.
Can’t Flaunt
Mobile is the new status symbol. Everyone in India is expected to carry one. Now it is the matter of what kind of mobile one carries. Mobile flaunting is all pervasive. If you are the one who is in awe of flaunting your latest phone, then I have to tell you that iPhone 4S looks exactly the same as iPhone 4.
There are quite a few iPhone 4’s out there and your iPhone 4S will gain the same traction. Unless you want to stick a “It’s the 4S bitch” sticker on the phone.
Siri
If you are very impressed with iPhone 4S’s most talked feature called Siri, then you might be in for disappointment topped with fun. Siri was designed for North American accent. India, as you know, has more English dialects than probably any other continent.
Just like you can’t buy Kindle Fire in India because of the US only content, you probably can’t use Siri in India because of its American accent focus.
It’s not the hardware, stupid
iPhone 4S is the best iPhone yet, but it isn’t counting on its hardware but on its hardware and software integration. There’s a perfectly good Android phone in Samsung Galaxy S2 and then there is Droid Bionic. There are subtle hardware differences between these 3 phones. But keep in mind that Apple never did and never will compete in the smartphone market with the latest and greatest camera.
iPhone 4S real strength is in its integration of hardware and software.
Dual SIM – only one will work.
This is still a speculation. iPhone 4S is a world phone with both CDMA and GSM capabilities on board. But rumor is that only one will work. It’s just that Apple chose to include both to make its production line and product portfolio simpler. For you it’s either GSM or CDMA. Not both.
At the end of the day, experience matters. That’s what you get out of iPhone 4S. Buy it for that not for the 4 reasons mentioned above.

HARDWARE: But a good hardware is Nothing without a good software
i bet that there are many 5 megapixel camera phones that are not able to beat 3 megapixel camera of iPhone 3gs
DUAL SIM: who need and high end smartphones does not have one
Iphone 4s is first time hands on to Various technologies:–
Artificial intelligence which is really made usable to end user.
No one has voice recognition this Brilliant. Even phones are not able to Dial numbers before iPhone 4s
Cloud Services: forget about transferring your data from one device to other
