With the launch of Gionee V6L LTE and P5L LTE, Gionee is trying to make its mark in the segment of affordable LTE phones supporting Indian 4G (2300 MHz, band 40). The Chinese smartphone maker has also launched two other 3G smartphones- Gionee P4S and Gionee P6 yesterday.
These 3G and 4G phones will be available in the Indian market after the second week of December. Along with these phones Gionee also announced the much awaited successor to the Elife S5.5- The Elife S5.1 and Elife S5.5 LTE.
All Gionee phones costing more than Rs. 10,000 will support Indian 4G from 2015.

The P4S comes with Window Flip feature which lights up the display to show time, date and weather in the flip window. It comes has rounded corners on a semi-transparent shell.
The Gionee P6 comes with a 5 inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display. More details haven’t been revealed at the moment, but given the display size and resolution of P6 in mind we expect it to have a price tag close to Rs. 8,000.
Successor to the Elife S5.5 showcased
Gionee also showcased the upcoming Elife S5.1 bearing a thickness of just 5.1 mm. Gionee has used metal as well as glass for making this phone and has equipped it with a 4.8” AMOLED HD display. It also boasts of a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor and has 1 GB RAM along with 16 GB ROM. S5.1 would run on Android KitKat skinned with Amigo UI 2.0 on launch.
It is interesting to note that Gionee has gone for an 8 MP camera sensor instead of stuffing it with a higher mega pixel count camera. Its 2050 mAh battery also looks somewhat less powerful in the light of recent phones launched with monstrous battery capacities.
