The less connected you are to a certain place called work, the better is your productivity. That’s not conventional thinking but that is becoming the truth as more and more people go mobile and more and more devices are equipped for mobile connectivity. The ubiquity of laptops, smartphones and now tablets means, more work can be done by actually being away from particular location.
When we take location out of the equation, the whole process of reaching the location is out of the picture too which saves incredible amount of time, money and resources.
The focus is moving away from where the work is done to getting the work done. New tools (software and hardware) are making it even easier.
As we move towards cloud integration, device agnosticism will become prevalent, which in turn increases our productivity even further. This infographic done by Social contact manager Gist, provides us a pictorial view of what’s happening in the unwired world.
Some findings of the research done by Gist :
3 out of 5 people say that they don’t need to be in office to be productive. I am happy to say that I will be in the 3 people.
38% of people working from home are actually most productive when they work from home.
