There are more than 200 mobile handset makers and sellers in India and yet new operators are getting in every other day. iBall was the most recent entrant. Now we have one more – Techcom India. The launch follows a pattern which is all too familiar for us by now. But for first time readers, I will run you through it.

7 mobile phones are launched and all of them are in the range of 1500-4000. Techcom wants to capture 2-3% market share in an year. That is like a carbon copy of iBall’s launch, which by the way has a cool floatable phone.
I haven’t done the due diligence of checking the seven models but here’s my guess. One of it would be the base model. Another one would be a touch screen phone. One or all would be dual sim phones. One would be a vanity phone. One would be a QWERTY phone. That, I think, is five phones. The other two phones could be anything. Let your imagination go wild. I will be back with more details.
