Star India will upend the way Indian video content is consumed. Star India has decided to put all its content on the cloud, stream it and make it ready for any device with an Internet connection to consume the content. DC reports that Star India is getting ready for Cloud TV and launch it as early as this September.
Star India is shifting the production, distribution and delivery of programmes in high definition to the cloud. Content will be digitally driven and will be available to be consumed by multiple platforms. Like all things in India and business in general, I expect (rather suspect) other channel operators to follow suit.
Star India owns popular channels like : Star Plus, Star One, Star World, Star News, Star Movies, Star Gold, Channel V and Star Pravah.
Star India joins the ranks of Apple, Google, Hulu, Netflix and Amazon to become the content provider on the cloud.
