Salora International’s maiden entry to the mobile handset space is with a feature rich, Salora SM401. The phone is dual SIM (of course) phone with 2.2 inch TFT display, 1.3 megapixel camera and costs Rs. 2499. Salora SM401 comes with an answering machine and its 1.3 megapixel camera can be used as webcam too.
Salora SM 401 comes with GPRS internet access, Bluetooth, FM radio with recording and has a torch. SM 401 can be expanded to 16 GB memory. It has big speakers with K series amplifier, will play MP4 and 3GP formats and comes in two colors – light green and blue.
Salora SM 401 is a feature rich phone. It also looks like a total value for money phone. Here’s where Salora SM401 stands out :
- Answering machine : We have seen this before (Xage MT 711’) and probably will become a standard feature. Having an answering machine on the phone is cool. If it works the way an answering machine is supposed to work, that is.
- Camera as webcam : The 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and zoom can be used as a webcam by connecting the phone to the computer.
- Phone as modem : Similar to using the phone as a webcam, it can be used as a modem too. Of course, this is the last resort or reserved for dooms day.
Salora SM 401 comes with a torch and costs Rs. 2499, but we have already covered that haven’t we?
