Nokia’s dual SIM phones – X1 and C2

Nokia has released two dual SIM phones – Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 – for emerging markets. These phones come with impressive dual SIM capabilities and enduring batteries.

Nokia X1-01

Part of Nokia’s music series phones, Nokia X1-01 is a dual SIM music phone. It has a big speaker on the back which and deliver 106 phon. How loud is that? Loud enough to piss off your neighbors or fellow travelers on a bus or train. Nokia is very proud of this fact. It is the loudest and clearest speaker Nokia has ever produced. In addition to the loud speaker, X1 supports 16 GB storage through SD card slot, FM radio, music player and dedicated music keys. A playlist can be created in just a click. X1-01 has torch light on top, in case you are out of power, which happens almost every other other hour in India. Nokia X1-00 runs Series 30 operating system.

Special feature of Nokia X1-01 is the assignment of logo, music signature or ringtone to each SIM’s, upto five separate SIM cards. A cool feature for someone juggling with multiple mobile numbers.

Nokia C2-00

Nokia C2’s second SIM card slot is provided on the outside, which will provide a easy swap. The first SIM will be entrenched inside the phone. People can swap their SIM cards easily to extend the functionality in a family.

Nokia C2-00 runs Series 40, which offers some key advantages in the form of internet access, a web browser and Nokia Messaging for email. The Nokia C2-00 also sports a VGA camera and allows for MMS messaging. There’s support for up to 32GB of storage using an SD card.

Both the phones will be loaded with Nokia Ovi Life ools in India. Ovi Life Tools will bring news, market prices, entertainment, health advice and education services.

Dual SIM phones also come with dual standby. Messages and notifications will be available across the SIM’s.

Most impressive feature on these mobiles, especially the X1 is the battery life. Nokia X1-01 has 43 days of standby time, 13 hours of talk time or 36 hours of music time – played continuously. Nokia C2-00 offers 19.2 days of standby time and 5.75 hours talk time.
