Quad Core LG Optimus VU to make Asia debut next month!

LG Optimus VU has been already launched in other markets for quite some time now. At present, the Optimus Vu is available in South Korea and Japan, But, has yet to be launched in Asian markets.

There have been some leaks regarding the launch of device in US market also. All these strategies will definitely increase the popularity of the device across the world.

LG made an announcement that it will launch its 5-inch Optimus VU globally across many countries of the world next month. This device will be available in countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.

The newer version of LG Optimus Vu will be slightly different than its predecessor . The dual-core Qualcomm silicon currently available in Korean and Japanese market will be replaced by a much speedier NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, however, it will not have LTE connectivity.

The device also features – a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. It runs on Android 4.0 operating system 1GB of RAM.

The other features of the device include – an internal memory of 32 GB, 8MP rear camera and front facing camera of 1.3 MP. It comes with a 2,080 mAh battery and supports 3G.

The announcement of the availability of the Optimus Vu in Asia came many days after the company released it. The company had already sold more than 500,000 units of the device in South Korea.

Even though the pricing of Optimus VU has not been revealed by LG, it is being matched against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Unlike Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, LG Optimus Vu gives a box like appearance similar to a tablet.

LG Optimus VU’s standout feature would be its high resolution 5 inch, 4:3 IPS display. The device is spacious and at the same time portable. 

We expect this 5-inch device will catch the audience immediately once it comes into the market.

The device falls in the category of phablet and competitors early with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2. That is the reason why the Big Red customers are looking eagerly for such a model and waiting for the U.S. launch of Optimus VU which is LG’s largest flagship model.

At present, the company holds 36 percent of the shipment of global Smartphones and we can expect Optimus VU to be one of the key releases.

According to the past sales figure of LTE devices, it is found that LG Optimus VU is the biggest seller within the category. LG has not yet announced anything bout the pricing, but we can be assured of the features and application offered by the device.

Similarly, there is no official announcement regarding the release date in the US, but the manufacturers recently announced that it is planned for US launch. According to LG’s declaration regarding the release in Asia, the device should be available for purchase during the third quarter of the year.
