Lava, one of the fastest growing mobile brands in India, has launched two low-end dual SIM phones - Lava KKT 50 and Lava KKT 39. These 2 phones are entertainment phones at the low end. KKT 50 is a touch screen phone which costs Rs. 3899 and KKT 39 is a feature phone which is priced at Rs. 3150.
Both Lava KKT 50 and Lava KKT 39 are powered by a 1400 mAh battery for providing uninterrupted entertainment. Lava KKT 50 is probably one of the cheapest touch screen phones out there.

Lava KKT 50 comes with incoming call video (a designated video will be played instead of a ringtone). It is available in white and green colors and is priced at Rs. 3899. KKT 50 is touch screen phone with 2.8 inch screen, comes pre-loaded with Skype, Twitter and Facebook.
The phone is loaded with Lava’s proprietary Skimobi platform to download Bollywood songs, games, images and wallpapers.

Lava’s press release also states that it has invested heavily in their state of the art research and development center at Bangalore. The company aims to become a serious contender in the mobile handset business taking on multinational brands like Nokia and Samsung!
I think the biggest beneficiary will be the end consumers who will be able to benefit from R&D efforts made by handset manufacturers like Lava!
