Picking a smartphone was never easy. More so now. A new phone launched every day, a deluge of Android phones and add Windows Phones to the mix and we have smartphone buyer’s worst nightmare. How do you decide which phone to buy? Would you go with popular opinion or social media chatter?

Microsoft has published a neat guide to help you pick your next smartphone. Since the guide comes from Microsoft you shouldn’t expect it to make any Android or iPhone recommendations. The guide is heavily tilted towards Windows phones but most parts are relevant to any smartphone buyer.
The cheat sheet especially is very useful. For example, if you are a social butterfly, Microsoft recommends HTC Radar and Samsung Focus Flash. If you are always in transit then HTC Radar, Nokia Lumia 710 and Samsung Focus S are the phones for you.
