Nokia’s new naming system {explained}

Nokia always had a naming system. With the release of Nokia 500, Nokia changed its naming system one more time. The previous naming system involved alphabets and numbers. Alphabets indicate which user group the phone is targeted to. E is for business, X is for music, C is for budget or cost conscious etc… Now Nokia has dropped the alphabets and will just stick to numbers.

Nokia using numbers doesn’t mean the names don’t have a meaning. The higher the number the heavier the price. Nokia 900 would be a top notch phone with a big price tag. Nokia 100 would be a budget phone or a feature phone. Nokia 500 is somewhere in between where it isn’t that high on price when compared with Nokia 900, yet is feature rich. Nokia explained this in its latest blog post.
