If all goes well in the rumor land, there might be an 8GB iPhone 4 lurking at a very attractive price in India. As per a retailer, an 8GB iPhone 4 will be retailing at Rs. 21,000 in India.
iPhone 3G S will be an endangered species and will not be available in direct retail market once iPhone 4 enters. iPhone 4 (16 GB) is now available at around Rs. 33000. Which makes the iPhone 4 (8 GB) even more attractive.
You might not be happy with the 8 GB storage and the inability to upgrade. But trust me on this : You don’t need all that memory and 8 GB is good enough. The new found constraint will help you get your priorities right. Besides you will have the same feeling as someone who bought an iPhone 4 for Rs. 35K-40K.
What about the competition?
I have every reason to believe that an 8 GB iPhone 4 will come sooner than later. It will help improve Apple’s smartphone shipments and also will help Apple to compete in the price segment it never competed in. The 20K-25K price segment.
This is one of the hotter price segments and is crowded with Android phones. With Apple’s brand value and iPhone’s appeal, an 8GB iPhone 4 has all the ingredients to decimate the competition.
Android still suffers from a brand image of not being user friendly and battery’s which don’t last beyond 4 hours. These factors were helping Blackberry in India. Now it will help Apple.
The stage is set for Apple to make the killer move.

Also what will now happen is all these "good" androids good means ones with 1GHZ and above with 8GB internal HDD, will drop their prices and that again will benefit we users!
also now android developers will get their act together and try to enhance their batteries!
Though iPhone 4 battery is better than android it is definitely not as good as iphone 3G & 3GS.. they literally charged in just 1hr and lasted for ever!
