Samsung Galaxy Tab is officially launched in India and will be available from Nov 10 2010. Flipkart and Samsung both are offering pre-orders. The device will start shipping from Nov 10th. India tablet sales will be 1 million in the next 12 months and Samsung wants to capture half of it. With a price tag of Rs. 38000, gaining 50% market share in a cost conscious country is a tall order.
Many cheaper tablets are available in the Indian market. Olivepad which has won an innovation award is available for Rs. 25000. Though a feature by feature comparison would make Samsung Galaxy Tab look much better. Not to take anything away from the Tab, it is a gorgeous device. Especially with its 7-inch capacitive touch screen, 1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM, there are no existing tablets in the Indian market which can match Galaxy Tab.
