Lava XOLO X900 : First Intel smartphone

Android Mobiles

Lava XOLO X900 is the latest smartphone powered by Intel which has got everybody’s attention. For a change, this phone is launched in India only. Lava, as we all know, is a India based mobile manufacturer. Lava XOLO X900 will be available in Croma stores from April 23, for Rs. 22000. XOLO X900 will also be available online at xolo.in from April 23.

Specifications

Lava XOLO X900 is powered by 1.6 GHz Intel’s Atom Z2460 processor with Hyper-Threading technology, 4-inch high resolution (1024×600) LCD touch screen, Android 2.3 OS, 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP rear camera which can record 1080p videos, and 3 MP secondary camera.

Its 1450 mAh battery provides up to 5 hours of 3G browsing, 45 hours of audio and 8  hours of talk time. HDMI, 3G and NFC are on board.

An expensive Lava phone?

Indian brands still suffer from a perception problem. We have seen it with Micromax Superfone and how it has gone down in the price through a price cut. India is still a country which regards Nokia and Samsung phones of superior quality and deserving the big bucks they command. When it comes to Indian companies, the same premium can’t be guaranteed.

I reckon Lava XOLO X900 would be no different. I can’t recall what was the most expensive phone from Lava but it sure didn’t cost Rs. 25000. Lava XOLO is in a delicate situation. I expect a price cut.

For the price of Rs. 25000, Lava XOLO packs in impressive features. The most important feature of the phone is the Intel processor which, unfortunately, many users won’t care about.
