Android market hits 10 billion downloads, offers great apps for a dime

Android market has passed the 10 billion app downloads. That’s a billion folks. It had hit the 1 billion app download mark in July 2010 and took less than 16 months to grow 10 fold. The market is now clocking one billion app downloads per month. An impressive growth for a mobile operating system which is just three years old.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Google is offering some great apps at a throwaway price of 10 cents. Apps include : Asphalt 6 HD, Color & Draw for Kids, Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro, Fieldrunners HD, Great Little War Game, Minecraft, Paper Camera, Sketchbook Mobile, Soundhound Infinity and Swiftkey X.

These apps will be priced at 10 cents for the next 10 days starting today. Not just that, there will be more apps coming which will just cost you a dime.
