Apple has already paid $3mn to South Koreans when it collected location data without the users consent. Now it is being sued by 27000 South Koreans in a class-action suit for $1mn (or $930 for each person). As per them, Apple is still collecting location data without their consent. $1mn is like chump change for Apple, hardly a blip in its balance sheet.
The determined South Koreans have also launched a website called SueApple. The website is in Korean and Google Translate did not render a translation. Not sure what really is going on the website but from the look of it, they don’t like Apple very much.
Why does Apple love location data so much? I think we all know the answer to that. Location is the new gold mine for everyone involved.
